THIS IS ME

My love for God and for music started early. As a little girl growing up in Brazil, I really enjoyed singing hymns in church with the congregation and at home with my mom, Maria Lúcia.
When I was 10 years old, God put a desire in my heart to learn music in order to serve Him. Our church organist and choir director was a Piano teacher, my very first Piano teacher!
I continued my Classical Piano studies for the next seven years at Pio XII Musical Conservatory in Bauru, graduating in 1985 at the same time I finished high school. Besides Classical music, I've always had great interest in genres like Bossa Nova and Jazz, which I definitely incorporated in my songwriting.
For my 15th birthday, my dad, Duílio, gave me a small Casio keyboard and I joined our church's praise team! What a joy!
Although my favorite Piano teacher had encouraged me to pursue a musical career, I decided to go for Computer Sciences instead. I really enjoyed Math and Sciences, and my musical goal had always been to use my talents only for God at church.
I attended State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and ended up working for IBM as a software developer for 9 years.
That was how I met my wonderful husband, Adalziso, the love of my life, who soon became a strong believer and God's servant, simply the perfect spouse for the road ahead!
At that time, I was a member of Campinas Central Church of the Nazarene, where I was able to serve in the worship ministry for several years, sometimes accompanied by my sisters, Andréa and Damaris (vocals), and my brother, Duílio Jr. (Tenor Sax). I also helped the Independent Presbyterian Church for a few years, serving as worship leader, keyboard player, choir director, and Sunday School teacher.
After we married in 1995, we attended Paula Bueno Church of the Nazarene, where I served as choir director until IBM transferred my husband to US in 1999, to work at their site located in the Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina.
We decided that I should take a break from working for IBM to have babies, but I continued to serve in the worship ministry at our local Church of the Nazarene in Raleigh, NC, as much as possible.
We had two sons: Felipe and Bruno. Felipe has special needs. Since his birth, life has been as challenging as it could, but God's grace has been more than sufficient! We love him deeply and he'll always be our baby! Bruno is smart, tall and handsome! We're really thankful for our little family!
My participation at our local church gradually grew into playing the Piano every Sunday with the praise team, singing solos, singing in the choir, which I later directed for several years, and writing arrangements for choir and praise band.
Then something unexpected happened: in 2013, with a little "push" from Bruno, I started writing my own praise and worship songs, inspired by God!
The songs kept coming, one after the other, and I believed they had a purpose: to be sung and to be shared with as many people as possible! That desire and hard work, blessed by God, are finally becoming reality! This is just another beginning! My prayer is that these songs may be for God's glory and may become an instrument in His hands that will bring people closer to Him! May God bless you!
